Laser-referenced grade control keeps tolerances consistent across the whole pour – critical for distribution centres running narrow-aisle racking, MHE traffic or automated picking. The slab meets the SR class on the drawings without slowing the build programme.
Concrete Saw Cutting
Curing concrete shrinks, and without engineered relief points that movement turns into random cracking. Saw-cut induced joints give the slab a planned line to crack along. Cut too early and the blade tears the aggregate; too late and the slab has already failed. Our crews work to the right cure window so joints sit where the engineer specified.
Concrete Cube Testing
Cube testing verifies the compressive strength of the mix actually delivered, not just the figure on the ticket. Samples are cast at the pour, cured under controlled conditions and crushed to BS EN 12390 at 7 and 28 days. The results sit in the project records as evidence the slab meets specifications.
Concrete Steel Fixing
Reinforcement gives a slab its tensile capacity, and how it is tied affects how the floor performs under point loads. Our steel fixing teams work straight from the structural drawings – bar size, lap lengths, cover and chair spacing are all set before any concrete is placed. On floors carrying heavy racking, plant or HGV traffic, that detail is the difference between a slab that lasts and one that fails early.

Where the spec calls for it, dry-shake hardeners or anti-static treatments go in before final power-floating.
Yards, hardstandings and HGV turning areas live under different demands – freeze-thaw cycles, standing water, oil contamination and constant axle loading. Our external concrete flooring uses air-entrained mixes, deeper cover to reinforcement and falls that drain, so the slab handles Yorkshire weather and keeps the operation trading.
