This stunning new development is designed to attract large retailers to enhance Rochdale’s town centre with their presence. In a time when some of the largest British retailers, such as BHS, have already announced they are closing, investing in retail space is a high-risk, high-reward strategy that Rochdale Council are hoping will pay off.
Here at Technic Concrete Floors, we were extremely proud to be asked to take part in this exciting endeavour! Our specialist operatives were able to provide their expertise to ensure the Rochdale Riverside Retail Project was constructed of the highest quality materials, to ensure a stunning, long-term space for retail in Rochdale.
The Rochdale Riverside Project
With an internal space of 2,300m2, it was extremely important that the entire Riverside Development had the highest-quality flooring for longevity, comfort and resilience. At Technic Concrete Floors, we were excited to take on the challenging project!
Technic’s Steel Fixing Operatives laid and taped polythene into place, followed by A252 Mesh Reinforcement. We then formed Crucifix-Styled Armour Joints to ensure stability and long-term damage-resistance to construction joints. Once these supports were in place, we distributed our high-quality concrete across the surface area.
To ensure that the surface was as smooth and level as possible, we utilised our S22 Laser Screed machine. This laid and compacted the concrete’s surface to an FM2 2013 Property Floor Tolerance. Once our Laser Screed machine had constructed the floor, our power float finishers set to work. We floated and polished the floor to a hard dense finish, ensuring the entire 2,300m2 space achieved a quality surface finish. The end result, offers durable aesthetically pleasing working surface
