Technic Concrete Floors have been involved in a large project to lay internal concrete floors to the construction of an Aldi, Costa Coffee drive through and multi-unit Terrace.

precision laying & finishing
After securing the contract, Technic arranged for materials to be delivered alongside a Telehandler to distribute the materials around the site to the various units. This was carried out by our own Telehandler operative.
Supervision throughout the process was important and Technic assigned a non-workingSupervisor to undertake this task working closely with the site operatives and that of the client’s site office.
Setting up of each floor area needed a co-ordinated approach to ensure that each area was fully prepared ready for the concrete to be laid for each floor type.
Internal Floor slab construction
Mesh reinforcement was laid each day in preparation for the pour with a team of Technic Steel Fixing operatives. The telehandler would support each team with distribution of the mesh to various parts around each unit.
On the day of the pours, it was a multitude of activity, from the concrete mixer trucks turning up on site, pumping through Technic Concrete Pumps 31 metre pump to deliver the concrete through the building onto the floor slab area.
Technic’s laying operatives worked in conjunction with the concrete pump operator by distributing the concrete through the mesh reinforcement onto the floor slab and constantly raking and blueing the concrete. This was finished off with a laser level, Master Screed.

Surface Tolerance Testing:
Surveyed by FACE Ltd to meet Concrete Society FM2 tolerance standards.
Abrasion Resistance Testing:
Conducted by FACE Ltd - full compliance achieved.
Concrete Strength Testing:
Independently tested by Alpha Concrete Ltd - full compliance achieved.
project impact
The Technic Plant Operator would use the remote control to manoeuvre the Master Screed along the floor slab. The Plant Operator would carry out this activity, checking the levels continuously.

The floor would then be ready for a power float finish to complete the task. This takes time, care and attention to achieve the shine and this was achieved by using Technic’s skilled operatives.
